Cradley Town 3-3 Lutterworth Athletic
Tuesday 17th March 2026
Lutterworth Athletic played out a thrilling 3–3 draw away to Cradley Town in a rearranged fixture that delivered plenty of goals and end-to-end action at Beeches View.
Dan Carter named three changes to the side that started in the previous match against Birmingham OJM, with Alex Vineall coming in to captain the side, while Josh Thompson and Josh Banton returned to the starting XI.
Goalkeeper AJ Young started his third consecutive match in between the sticks, whilst young midfielder Blake Kindred started his eighth consecutive match for the Atho.
Despite a bright start, Atho found themselves trailing in the first half when Callum North opened the scoring for the hosts, the first of three goals on the night for the forward.
Lutterworth responded positively and, after continuing to push forward, found a crucial equaliser right on the stroke of half-time.
Ben Whitehead, who had come close in the previous match after hitting the crossbar, made no mistake this time as he found the back of the net to level the match at 1–1 heading into the break.
Buoyed by that momentum, Atho took the lead for the first time in the match shortly after the restart.
Taylor Blyth produced a composed finish in the 50th minute to make it 2–1, marking his second goal for the club since joining in the new year.
However, the lead was short-lived as a quick spell of pressure from Cradley saw Callum North add two more goals to complete his hat-trick and swing the advantage back in favour of the hosts.
Once again, the visitors showed resilience and character to respond.
Just minutes later, Josh Thompson marked his return to the side with a well-taken goal, his first since rejoining the club, to bring Atho level at 3–3.
Despite the attacking intent, neither side was able to find a winner, and the points were ultimately shared.
While Atho may feel they had opportunities to take all three points, it marks a valuable point on the road and brings an end to a three-match losing run.
The challenge continues, however, with another tough away fixture on the horizon as Dan Carter's side travel to face Knowle team currently competing at the top end of the table.
Thank you to everyone who made the journey to support the team, your backing is greatly appreciated.
