Chelmsley Town 0-2 Lutterworth Athletic
Saturday 28th February 2026
Lutterworth Athletic returned to winning ways with a composed and professional 2–0 victory away to Chelmsley Town at Pack Meadow.
Two early goals in the first half proved decisive on the day, as Atho made a strong start and never looked back.
The breakthrough came early when Sam Lockley rose highest to power home a header, continuing his impressive goalscoring form since joining the club and giving Lutterworth the perfect start.
Just minutes later, the advantage was doubled.
Luke Merrall found himself through one-on-one with the goalkeeper after ten minutes and showed great composure to slot the ball into the net to make it 2-0.
Chelmsley responded with intent, and debutant Atho goalkeeper Jake Bull was called into action soon after, producing a strong save.
The second half was a more measured affair, with limited clear-cut chances for either side.
Atho managed the game well, remaining organised defensively and disciplined in possession to secure an important clean sheet on the road.
It marks another positive result that makes it five wins from nine matches.
Next up is an away trip to Ingles in Shepshed on Saturday 7th March, a 3pm kick-off.
Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday’s match on the road, your support is greatly appreciated by everyone at the club.
