Lutterworth Athletic made it back-to-back home victories with a convincing 3-0 win over Coventry Copsewood in a special Boxing Day early kick-off at Ausden Clark Arena.

With free entry for all and a 12:30pm start, a bumper crowd of 160 turned out to enjoy the festive football, and they were treated to an excellent first-half display from the Atho.

The breakthrough came via the club’s top goalscorer, Adam Shaw, who opened the scoring with a composed finish to settle any early nerves and set the tone for the afternoon.

One soon became two as Shaw once again showed his quality in front of goal, finishing clinically to give Lutterworth full control of the contest before the interval.

The forward completed a first-half hat-trick shortly before the break, capping a dominant opening 45 minutes and giving the Atho a commanding three-goal advantage that proved decisive.

In the second half, Atho managed the game professionally, maintaining their shape and seeing out the contest to secure a much sought-after clean sheet, much to the delight of the home support.

It was a great team performance and a sign of growing stability, with consistency in both personnel and selection allowing partnerships to develop as the squad continues to grow together.

The result marks back-to-back home wins for the first time this season and a third victory in Dan Carter’s first seven matches in charge, providing the perfect way to celebrate the festive period and bring the calendar year to a close on a high note.

Next up for the Atho is a tough test away from home against high-flying Sutton United on Saturday 3rd January 2026.
