Knowle FC 2-0 Lutterworth Athletic

Saturday 21st March 2026

Lutterworth Athletic were beaten 2–0 by Knowle FC in a contest where a resilient performance was undone by a quickfire second-half double from the title-chasing hosts.

Following the midweek 3–3 draw away at Cradley Town, Atho made several changes to the starting line-up.

Jake Bull came back into the side to start in goal, while Abdul Bambah, Jay Finlay, Ethan Flaig, Kieron Brehon, and Max Johnson were all re-introduced into the XI.

On a bright spring afternoon, Lutterworth started well and showed discipline throughout the first half, limiting Knowle’s attacking threat while also posing danger on the counter.

Whilst soaking up pressure, efforts from Abdul Bambah and Alex Webb tested the hosts, but the match remained goalless at the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Atho continuing to defend resolutely and look for opportunities to break forward.

Luke Merrall came close after being introduced, as Lutterworth searched for a breakthrough, Jay Finlay moved into a centre forward position from defence and midfielder Bradley Harris was introduced for his Atho debut.

However, the game turned in a decisive spell midway through the half when Connor Mort opened the scoring with a looping effort.

Talib Copeland added a second just minutes later with a low drilled finish, giving the hosts a 2–0 advantage.

Despite their efforts and organisation throughout much of the contest, Atho were unable to recover from the quick succession of goals, as Knowle saw out the remainder of the match to secure the points.

The result leaves Lutterworth in 15th place on 32 points, with the bottom half of the table remaining extremely tight.

Just five points separate 12th place Coventry Copsewood and 20th place Wednesfield in the relegation zone.

Attention now turns to a return to home action, as Atho host AFC Bridgnorth on Saturday 28th March, looking to bring an end to a five-match winless run.

Thank you to everyone who made the trip to Knowle, your support is greatly appreciated.
