Ingles 2-0 Lutterworth Athletic

Saturday 7th March 2026

Lutterworth Athletic were defeated 2–0 away to Ingles on Saturday 7th March 2026, as two goals from set-piece situations proved decisive at Homestead Road.

The hosts made a bright start and created the first clear opportunity inside the opening minutes, striking the post during an early spell of pressure.

Ingles made that pressure count in the 15th minute when a corner delivery found its way to Chapman in the box, who headed home to give the home side the advantage.

Lutterworth gradually worked their way into the contest as the half progressed, showing improved control in possession and looking to build attacking momentum, though clear-cut chances remained limited before the break.

Atho returned for the second half with greater intent, pushing higher up the pitch and forcing Ingles to defend deeper for periods.

Despite some encouraging passages of play, the hosts remained organised at the back and difficult to break down.

With Lutterworth committing players forward in search of an equaliser, Ingles doubled their lead later in the half when a cross into the box was headed back across goal, allowing Chapman to nod in his second of the afternoon.

Atho continued to battle until the final whistle and nearly pulled one back late on, but a strong save from the Ingles goalkeeper preserved the clean sheet for the hosts.

Next up for Atho is another away match as they travel to face Wednesfield Community in a rearranged fixture on Tuesday 10th March, with a 7:45pm kick-off.

Thank you to everyone who travelled to support the team, your backing is greatly appreciated.
