Lutterworth Athletic 6-0 AFC Bridgnorth

Saturday 28th March 2026

Lutterworth Athletic First Team recorded their largest margin of victory this season with a 6-0 victory at home over AFC Bridgnorth to seal three much-needed points on Non League Day 2026.

Dan Carter named three changes to the side that faced league leaders Knowle the previous Saturday, with Elijah Kazimirow, Ben Whitehead-Thompson, and D'Lanie James all returning to the starting lineup.

Atho made the perfect start to the afternoon, taking the lead inside six minutes as Adam Shaw finished well to put the hosts ahead.

Lutterworth continued to look dangerous going forward and doubled their advantage midway through the half, with Shaw once again on hand to convert following a quick counter attack.

Despite the two-goal lead, Bridgnorth had chances of their own during the first half, but Jake Bull produced a number of strong saves to ensure Atho went into the break with a clean sheet intact.

The second half saw Lutterworth take further control of the contest.

Luke Merrall added a third goal with a superb piece of skill and a composed finish across goal, before Taylor Blyth made it four after winning possession in the opponents box and slotting home from close range.

The scoring continued late on, with AJ Young, previous playing in goal for the Atho, coming on as an outfielder and adding a fifth goal with a header.

Finally, a Luke Merrall cross was turned into the net for an unfortunate own goal in stoppage time to complete the rout.

The result is a first win in six matches and moves Atho onto 35 points in the Midland Football League Division One table.

We now enter the final month of the season, in which Atho have four more league matches to close out the 2025/26 campaign.

The first of those is a tough away trip to play-off contenders Heather St John's next Saturday, April 4th, kick off 3pm, and we would love to see you there.

Thank you to everyone who came down to support the team and enjoy our facilities and hospitality.
