Pro Direct Academy & HOET Football Education Trial Day – Lutterworth Athletic

With just over a week to go until the first ever Football Education Trial Day with Pro Direct Academy (PDA) Lutterworth and Heart of England Training (HOET), excitement is building for what promises to be an incredible opportunity for young players in the area.

Hosted in partnership with Lutterworth Football Academy (LFA), this event is designed to give aspiring footballers a real taste of what life could be like in our brand-new Football Education Programme, officially launching next year.

A New Pathway for Ambitious Players

The Football Education Programme is a fantastic opportunity for students who are passionate about football but also want to continue their studies. Open to current Year 11 and 12 students, the programme will give players the chance to train like professionals while completing a recognised qualification delivered by HOET.

The partnership has been created to give young people the best of both worlds, high-quality education combined with elite-level football coaching and player development. It’s the ideal pathway for anyone looking to take their first step towards a career in the game, whether as a player, coach, or in a supporting role within the football industry.

Led by Experienced Professionals

Our Director of Football, Alex Savage, will be heavily involved in the programme and the upcoming Trial Day. Alex brings a wealth of experience from his coaching and education background. His hands-on approach ensures that every player who joins the programme receives expert guidance both on and off the pitch.

The coaching team will be offering valuable insights into what life is like as part of a full-time football and education setup. Participants will experience professional-standard training sessions, meet the staff, and learn more about the structure and expectations of the programme.

What to Expect on the Day

The trial day will take place on Thursday 23rd October from 10am to 3pm at The Ausden Clark Arena, Hall Lane, Lutterworth, LE17 4LN.

Throughout the day, players will:

• Take part in high-quality coaching sessions led by PDA coaches and Lutterworth Athletic staff

• Learn about the education and football opportunities available through HOET

• Hear from our Director of Football, Alex Savage, about the aims and values of the programme

• Discover how the football education pathway can help them reach their full potential

This will be an excellent opportunity not only to demonstrate ability but also to learn about the unique environment we’re building here at Lutterworth Athletic.

Looking Ahead to 2026

The Football Education Programme officially launches in September 2026 and will run in partnership with Pro Direct Academy and the Heart of England Training. It’s designed to provide a clear and structured pathway for players leaving school, helping them to continue their education while developing as athletes in a supportive and professional setting.

By combining academic learning with football development, we aim to prepare students for a variety of future opportunities – from progressing into higher education to pursuing roles in coaching, sports science, or professional football.
