On Sunday 1st June, the Ausden Clark Arena played host to another memorable charity football match at Lutterworth Athletic, as Joseph Morris Butchers took on the Lutterworth Never Have Beens, a team made up of former players, volunteers and members of the club.
In a spirited and thoroughly entertaining match, Joseph Morris Butchers ran out 6–4 winners in a game that had a bit of everything: goals, laughter, a few tired legs by the end.
A Charity Match Played in the Right Spirit
While both sides were competitive, the match was played in great humour and camaraderie.
The referee was not shy with the whistle, or the cards, issuing several yellows which, in good fun, came with ‘fines’ paid by the players directly to the fundraising pot.
By the final whistle, there were plenty of aching calves, but the smiles said it all, a fantastic afternoon enjoyed by everyone involved.
Incredible Support from the Community
What made the day even more special was the fantastic turnout of family, friends and local supporters, who cheered from start to finish.
Many stayed to continue the celebration in the clubhouse, enjoying food and drinks served throughout the day.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, £500 was raised for Alzheimer’s Society, a cause chosen by Joseph Morris Butchers, one of Lutterworth Athletic’s long-standing partners.

An Opportunity for All Our Sponsors
This match follows our successful charity game in earlier this year against a team formed by Ausden Clark, another proud club sponsor.
These events show just one of the many benefits available to our commercial partners, from taking part in unique matchdays to selecting a charity close to their heart.
