A solid and clinical Cradley Town side helped their survival chances by earning victory against Lutterworth Athletic on a difficult afternoon at Ausden Clark Arena.

The Atho were once again without captain Alex Vineall and Sam Lockley who had made a big impact on his debut, leading the line with Adam Shaw last time out.

Cradley Town took an early lead and their decisiveness in front of goal on the day and their defensive efforts paid dividends as they went two goals to the good at the break.

A third goal for the visitors made the uphill task even harder of sealing any points.

A late penalty, converted by the in-form Adam Shaw on 87 minutes, gave Lutterworth Athletic a slim lifeline as the team did not back down.

A few attacks and chances created to find another goal but it was too little too late as the Atho weren't able to build on last week's big win.

Lutterworth Athletic will be looking to bounce back with a home match against Stapenhill on Saturday 13th December.
